Why do I have to renew my pet's license every year?
Counties, cities and towns provide a lot of great services to help keep our communities safe and when it comes to pets, it's easy for things to quickly become out of control. County officials are responsible for everything from animal control and pet rescue, to maintaining dog parks and county trails. You do your best to keep your pet safe and happy but we all know, accidents happen. A license allows allows animals services, or your fellow citizens, to reunite you with your lost pet.
Since the last time I licensed, my pet has been spayed/neutered. How can I update their profile to receive the correct rate?
Spokane County provides discounted licensing rates based on a number of factors. If your pet has been sterilized since their last license or you now qualify for the seniors discounts, you will need to update your profile to reflect these changes. Once updated, you will automatically be charged the correct rate when you renew their license.
I renewed my pet's license but didn't get a new tag. Why?
99% of the time it's because you did not specify you would like a new tag when completing the renewal process. For the sake of not generating unnecessary waste, we would recommend only replacing your pet's tag if the tag has been lost or is showing signs of wear. You can order a replacement tag through your online account for $5.00.
Wondering when your new tag will arrive?
Typically membership packages are received in the mail 10-12 business days after your order is processed. You can login anytime and access your profile and not to worry, county records will show your pet has an active license.
